Info

MERJ is a minimalistic platformer made for the GMTK 2021 Game Jam. You can join to anything of the same colour and reach the exit together. There is a total of 10 levels that progressively get harder and add mechanics. All of the code and 'art' were created by me during the 48hrs, except for the AudioManager. The game has been updated, but the original jam version is also available for download. Also, I know platformers aren't that unique but this is actually somehow the first time I've made one.

These levels can be completed in multiple different ways but the video below shows the intended solutions for every level.

Update Info

I will probably be no longer releasing updates for this game unless it is wanted, but if you would like to see what I have changed in the updates, check out the development logs below.

I got stuck when in this situation( already can not move ) hahahah This really interesting mechanic to inspire innovation idea

how to pass the level2? I found i can not jump passed the pit left of the screen. btw, need function to return home

I'm not exactly sure what you mean but it looks like you got past it
Also I've updated it so the escape button takes you back to the menu instead of quitting the game (although I cant update the game file yet)

I kept getting tripped up by the walls being sticky/high friction. It was frustrating every time I didn't make a ledge and got stuck to the wall because it made it harder to reset to try again. Otherwise, it was a neat concept with a mostly-functional presentation.

Very cool concept, though some minor tweak are needed:

- I think the character is too slow and their jumps are very short

-I also found a bug (kind of), if you fall and run into a wall you get stuck, very easy fix, you just need to make a new physics material 2d, assign it to your player and set the friction of the material to 0

Otherwise very very cool concept, I would love to see a more polished version as soon as possible

PS: your itch page is not contrastive at all so i don't really see what I am writing so apologies for making mistakes

I don't personally agree with the speed being too low but if enough people agree (and if I even bother updating the game) I'll probably change it
Yeah, I was thinking about stopping you from getting stuck on the wall, and I even tried exactly what you said but it didn't work and then I kinda forgot about it lol
Also, the page should look better now
